ABSTRACT
During this study, 26 deer [Dorcas gazelle] were examined for brucellosis. Sera were separated and tested by using the Rose Bengal Plate Test [RBPT] and serum agglutination test [SAT]. Fifteen of examined animals showed high titer of serum antibodies to brucella species and the sera of the examined deer gave doubtful results for brucella infection. Pathological studies were carried out using specimens from the swollen joints and testicles. Histopathological examinations of the joints revealed areas of edema, necrosis and inflammatory cells infiltration. Number of cases showed fibrinoid degeneration, fibrous connective tissue proliferation and granulomatous inflammation. Changes of the tests and epididymis varied from degenerative changes to necrosis and atrophied seminiferous tubules. Also, the presence of the characteristic multinucleated giant cells in the lumen of the degenerated seminiferous tubules were recognized
