Extramedullary plasmacytoma of the submandibular lymph node: a case report

ABSTRACT

A case of extramedullary plasmacytoma [Plasma cell neoplasam] of the submandibular lymph node in a 54 years old male is presented. There was no lesion in the oral cavity and in the upper respiratory tract. Combined chemotherapy and radiation resulted in a remission, which lasted seven months. However, at the end of the seven months the patient presented again, in a state of semicoma with a clinical picture consistent with widespread involvement of the Central Nervous System and the patient succumbed two days after admission to hospital
