ABSTRACT
The present study was done on 25 adult human knees to study the menisci and their anatomical features regarding the shape, size together with their attachments. The lateral meniscus was found to cover a greater part of the tibial plateau than the medial meniscus. The later was attached to the medial collateral ligament of the knee joint and the posterior part of the lateral meniscus was attached to the popliteus muscle. The menisci were attached to the intercondylar area of the tibia by their anterior and posterior horns via insertional ligaments
