ABSTRACT
The study of 47 patients with neuropsychiatric form of tuberculous meningitis effectuated in the service of neurology that - The age of the onset is between 15 and 40 years in 80% of the cases. - The diagnosis is often late because the psychiatric forms are very unknown, and so, mortality stays very important [36%]. - The study of cerebrospinal fluid can be normal in the encephalitic forms and the Koch's bacillus is rarely found [only in 50% of the cases]. - We have found * 11 meningitis forms * 8 neurologic forms. and 28 forms where the main manifestations were psychiatric. - The electroencephalographic study appears very important in these forms and we have found EEG abnormalities in 100% of the cases. - The prognosis of these meningoencephalitis is severe and it is necessary to begin the treatment in the doubtful forms, while the etiologic research is begun
