ABSTRACT
The postnatal ultastructural age changes of the liver cells in albino rats were studied. These studies included the changes in the size of the hepatocytes and the nucleus-cytoplasm ratio. Changes of the nucleus, its membrane, nuclear inclusions and nucleolus were also studied. The size and number of the mito-chondria and endoplasmic reticulum have been observed. The activity and number of lysosomes as well as cytoplasmic vacules were detected in the different ages. The age changes affecting the cytoplasmic inclusions as glycogen granules, fat droplets and accumulation of lipofuscin pigments were also described and discussed in this study
