ABSTRACT
Crude lupinseed oil extracted from the varieties Giza 1, Giza 2 and Balady was classified and identified for its content of total glycerides, phospholipids, hydrocarbons, sterol ester and wax ester, free sterol and free alcohols, glycolipids and unidentified waxy materials. Classification of crude lipids by column chromatography showed that oil of GIZA 1, Giza 2 and Balady contains the following components respectively; 0.5, 0.7 and 0.8% hydrocarbons; 3.8, 3.7 and 3.5% sterol ester and wax ester; 87.14%, 86.88% and 86.58% triglycerides; 2.0% 2.3% and 1.8% phospholipids; 2.7%, 2.5% and 3.1% free sterols and free alcohols; 0.66%, 0.54% and 0.72% glycolipids. Identification of the glycerides by thin layer chromatography indicted that glycerides of oils of Giza 1, Giza 2 and Balady were 92.83, 92.89 and 92.93% triglycerides; 3.09, 2.97% and 2.95% 1,2-diglycerides; 3.38, 3.31 and 3.49% 1,3-diglycerides; 0.42, 0.53 and 0.40% 1-mono-glycerides; 0.28, 0.30 and 0.23% 2-mono -glycerides; respectively. Sitosterol, camp sterol, stigmasterol and cholesterol were detected in varied percentages in crude lupinseed oils. Site sterol represented 84.63, 85.15 and 86.51% of the total sterols found in lupinseed oil of Giza 1, Giza 2 and Balady respectively while camp sterol represented 6.86, 8.54 and 7.59% for the same varieties respectively. Meanwhile, stigma sterol and cholesterol were 6.01 and 2.50%; 4.87% and 1.44%; 4.38% and 1.52% of the total sterols found in Giza 1, Giza 2 and Balady respectively. Gas liquid chromarography analysis revealed that hydrocarbons found in crude oil of Giza 1, Giza 2 and balady was as follows 0.90%, 0.41% and 0.69% C[17]; 0.75%, 0.91% and 0.41% C[18]; 1.13,% 0.91% and 0.55% C[19]; 74.05%, 84.66% and 77.26% C[23]; 2.11%, 1.28% and 0.25% C[24]; 3.93%, 3.20% and 1.93% C[25]; 7.05%. 2.97% and 8.69% C[27]; 10.07%, 5.49% and 10.21% C[31] respectively
