Quality concept and performance of intensive care unit

ABSTRACT
The global concept of quality of care is complex. It is necessary to know to identify problems, to plan adequate actions, to measure impact and to improve these actions without forgetting that the patient is the final arbiter of product and service quality. Practionners have to analyze structures and the organization, procedures of cares and results with use indicators that validity and reliability are not still appropriate. Two types of scores are usually used in reanimation those measuring severity of the affection, proposed like prognosis factors and means of resource assignment and those measuring personnel's daily activity. Although insufficient, these scores continuous to be considered as tools of costs control and care unit efficiency
