The objective of the study was to see the beneficial effects of Octreotride in acute pancreatitis. Thirty five patients who were diagnosed as acute pancreatitis were divided in two groups. In group A [controlled] Octreotride was given in a dose of 100 measures. In group B [uncontrolled] patient were managed without Octreotride. Patients were evaluated in terms of abscess formation, haemorrhage, pseudocyst formation and mortality or uneventful recovery in both groups.
