ABSTRACT
The retrocava ureter is a rare malformation. Many cases can stay asymptomatic until the adult. The diagnosis can be evoqued by the intravenous urography and confirmed by the retrograd ureteropyelography. The conservative surgical treatement must be the rule [ureter transposition, end to end ureteroraphy with or without excision of the retrocaval portion which frequently appears to be intrinsically pathologic
