Development of nursing human resource in Pakistan

ABSTRACT

Decision makers in health sector need to understand that human resource development particularly, nursing is asking for revolutionary changes. The goal of nursing education is to equip the present day nurse for the requirement of the future, to have appropriate knowledge and skills, competence and attitude. Pakistan Nursing Council has to improve its regulatory role, should redesign the curricula, standards, modes of implementation and monitoring. Doctor nurse ratio and patient nurse ratio to be reviewed with continued mechanism of nursing education professional development
