ABSTRACT
The cardiovascular effects of oxodipine, a new calcium antagonist compound have been investigated in 30 anesthetized dog [pentobarbital 25 mg kg[-1] I.V.]. Heart rate and arterial pressure were continuously monitored. Oxodipine injected at 10, 15 and 75 mcg kg[-1] produces a significant hypotensive without change in heart rate. The L D 100 of oxodipine was determined by perfusion at rate of 75 mcg kg[-1], that of nifedipine at rate of 40 mcg kg[-1] min[-1]. Oxodipine appears as active as infedipine. The two compound present a structural analogy and the similar pharmacological profile of antihypertensive type, by predominant arterial action
