Emergency Medicine [EM] in Iran is a young specialty. As one of the steps taken towards the establishment of EM, a National Curriculum has been developed for residency programs. The curriculum is based on current concepts in medical education and aims at ensuring that all EM residencies in Iran provide for the acquisition of pre-defined core competencies by trainees. The curriculum has been organized into a format that can be easily communicated to all stakeholders.
