The amount of corneal astigmatism after cataract extraction is measured in 100 cases using the keratometer and the autorefractometer. Comparative study was done between limbal sections closed by 8-0 virgin silk suture and corneal sections closed by 10-0 monofilament sutures. The effect of sutures removed after 16 weeks was also studied. Follow-up for 6 months was done for the surgically induced corneal astigmatism after cataract extraction surgery
