ABSTRACT
The importance of assessing coronary artery disease in patients with rheumatic valve diseases arises from putting in mind the prognostic effect of coronary artery disease [s] and the possibility of combined surgery for the valve [s] and the coronary artery [ies]. Out of 91 patients studied in this group with valvular heart disease, 75 underwent selective coronary angiography revealed abnormal coronary arteries in 17, this required revascularization in 14 patients three of them were asymptomatic. All 17 patients but two aged 42 and 45 years were above the age of 55. The study was carried out in the University Department of Medical Cardiology, Glasgow Royal Infirmary
