Refractive surgery of the eye-an experience in Pakistan 1982-1991

ABSTRACT
Refractive Surgery of the eye is now a recognized and acceptable procedure in developed countries. In Pakistan, over a period of nine years 630 procedures have been carried out by the author. Postoperative follow up in the majority of cases has been for five years, and in 25% for nine years. The results have been overwhelmingly encouraging, and this surgical procedure of Radial Keratotomy can be recommended for elective surgery for myopia of less than 3 Dioptres with promising results:
