ABSTRACT
Skin is the largest organ of body. It is a perfect thermal barrier and protected the body against minimal invasive or micro organism invasion. This cross sectional and retrospective study is done on 68 patients referred to pathology laboratory of beasat hospital between 1383 to 1387. Demographic information, age, sex, site of lesion and pathologic report is obtained of pathology files. At last the results were analyzed by statistical soft ware spss 15. The cause of malignant epidermal neoplasm with respect to pathologic report included, 60 cases [88.2%] BCC, 5 cases [3%] SCC and 3 cases [4.5] malignant melanoma. The average age for BCC [55 +/- 13.5], SCC [61.4 +/- 15.7] and melanoma [61.3 +/- 12.4]. The most site of skin involvement was sun exposed areas. The study has shown that basal cell carcinoma [BCC] is the most common coetaneous malignancy and elderly patient are typically affected. Sun expose areas [with regard to site of involvement] is a potential carcinogen for malignant epidermal neoplasm
