RESUMEN

Evaluamos un programa piloto para los recién nacidos de bajo peso (RNBP) creado en la comuna de Cunco IX Región, que cuenta con Hospital tipo IV, en base a entrevista mensual y personalizada a las madres y control histórico. La menor consulta por morbilidad, menor mortalidad y mejor estado nutritivo al egreso del programa con diferencia estadísticamente significativa, hacen aconsejable iniciar un estudio de nivel regional
