RESUMO
A case of Tinea capitis in an adult caused by Trichophyton tonsuran is described. The patient had no signs of systemic immunosupression but was using topical corticosteroid at the site of the infection. The lesion resembled seborrheic dermatitis. Trichophyton tonsurans seems to be increasing as a cause of tinea capitis specially in adults in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Its clinics and epidemiology are discussed
