RESUMO
A dor mamária representa 80 por cento das queixas relativas à mama em consulta ginecológicas. Apresenta formas distintas de manifestaçao e uma diversidade de tratamentos propostos. Os autores revisam aspectos clínicos e terapêuticos da mastalgia, discutindo as controvérsias existentes e enfatizando a necessidade de uma adequada relaçao médico-paciente como forma eficiente de tratar esse problema.
