RESUMO
In premature rupture of membranes, infection is one of the manin risks. This paper refers to amniotic fluid examination as a medium to detect early infection. Three tests are analyzed 1. Glucose level in amniotic fluid. 2. Gram smear and 3. Leucocyte esterase levels. Glucose level is the best of them but sensitivity and specifity are not good enough to recommend no one of them
