Se informa un caso introducido de miasis cutanea de tipo primario causada por la larva de Dermatobia hominis (L. Jr.) (Diptera Cuterebridae) en un estudiante nicaraguense becado en la Isla de la Juventud.Se describe el tipo de lesion provocada, asi como las caracteristicas sistematicas de la larva. Se anaden ademas, algunos aspectos sobre su biologia e importancia
