RESUMO
With the aim of facilitating academic learning and practical training in surgical operating techniques, in particular how to perform knots and sutures, a non-biological experimental model has been developed. It comprises an aluminium plate on a fibre base, with a lateral cutaway for ease of support and transport. On this plate, devices can be mounted that simulate that diverse situations encountered in fundamental surgical procedures. This model has the advantages that it is highly portable and versatile, making it easy to use in any enviroment, and may also serve as an instrument for evaluation by tutors and lectures
