RESUMO
Foram estudados os exames tomográficos cerebrais de 43 crianças que apresentavam crises convulsivas generalizadas recorrentes. Todos os pacientes apresentavam exames neurológico e mental normais. Apenas uma criança (2,3 por cento) apresentou resultado tomográfico alterado. Pelo elevado custo do exame, os autores questionam para a nossa realidade, a necessidade do exame tomográfico rotineiro em crianças com convulsão generalizada e exames neurológico e mental normais
