ABSTRACT
The peptic ulcer is a frequent organic disease, that occurs in 10 (percent) of the adult population of the world. In the last years we have had a decrease in its incidence, specially in the developed countries. However the association with helicobacter pylori is increasingly evident. The author made a review on peptic ulcer, its etiology, diagnosis and treatment, emphasing its practical aspects
