RESUMEN
A clinical-functional examination was performed to a preschool population composed of 80 children (39, boys average age 59.9 months and 41 girls, average age 59.7 months) in order to determine mandibular dynamics, occlusal parameters, distribution and severity of bruxofacets and symptomatology of mandibular disfunction. Out of the 80 children examined, 8 were eliminated from the study due to the presence of al least one erupted permanent molar. Thus, the remaining 72 children constituted the final representative group for the present study (40 girls and 32 boys). Fron a diagnostic point of view, wear facets are basically the result of a repetitive bruxistic activity. In this sense, it is important to emphasize within the results the great prevalence of bruxofaces that were found (setenta y uno punto cincuenta y uno por cientos). Most of them belonged to the eccentric bruxofacet type (68.Treinta y nueve por ciento) It is also interesting to note that 88. Cuatro por cientos of the eccentric bruxofacets did not present a wear trajectory from centric to eccentric, but instead were produced by a repetitive chenching and grinding activity in eccentric edge to edge positions
