RESUMO
Based on clinical and operative findings, a feasible classification of knee joint instabilities resulting from injuries to the anterior; posterior cruciate, lateral, and medial ligaments is discussed. The author emphasizes and clearly outlines the clinical examination as the first requirement to achieve an accurate diagnosis in order to perform a proper surgical reconstruction.
