RESUMEN

Presentamos dos casos de niños de 5 años de edad, quienes estuvieron hospitalizados en el Servicio de Infectología en los meses de julio y agosto del año 2002, por un cuadro de Hepatitis viral aguda tipo A, presentando signos y síntomas de efusión pleural, corroborada con radiografía y ecografía torácica. El compromiso respiratorio de efusión pleural desapareció conforme mejoraba el cuadro de Hepatitis viral clínica y bioquímicamente.
