Estrategias y resultados de la atención estomatológica a niños y adolescentes / Results and strategy of the stomatologycal atention to children and adolescents

RESUMEN

Se realiza un análisis de las estrategias establecidas y los resultados alcanzados en la atención estomatológica a niños y adolescentes (población de 0 a 18 años de edad). Se enfatiza sobre la estrategia establecida, que comprende la clasificación por ubicación de los niños y adolescentes en el hogar de residencia, en instituciones infantiles, en instituciones de la educación primaria y media, continúa con la red de instituciones del Sistema Nacional de Salud Pública con atención estomatológica y el grupo o equipo de trabajo de salud bucal jerarquizado por el estomatólogo. Se hace referencia a los 3 niveles de atención y servicios, la organización de la atención mediante sistema incremental, la vigilancia y evaluación del estado de salud previo el diagnóstico de salud y el plan de acción. Finalmente se presentan los resultados del Programa Nacional de Atención Estomatológica Integral para esta población, según datos del Sistema Nacional de Estadísticas Sanitarias, así como los resultados de la encuesta de salud bucal orientada por la OMS, y su comparación con las metas propuestas por la OMS/FDI para el año 2000. Las metas de la OMS/FDI para el año 2000 se cumplen satisfactoriamente, la No. 1 y 2 en más del 100 por ciento y la No. 3 al 89,20 por ciento(AU)

ABSTRACT

An analysis is made of the strategies established and the results attained in dental care of children and adolescents (population from 0 to 18 years old). Emphasis is made on the established strategy where children and adolescents are classified according to their localization at home, at children's institutions, or at primary and middle level educational centers. It continues with the network of institutions of the National Public Health System providing dental care and the working group or team of oral health arranged hierarchically by the stomatologist. Reference is made to the 3 levels of attention and services the organization of the attention by the incremental system, the surveillance and evaluation of the health status previous to the diagnosis and the action plan. Finally, the results of the National Comprehensive Dental Care Program for this population are given in accordance with the data of the National Health Statistics System, the results of the "oral health survey" oriented by the WHO, and their comparison with the goals proposed by the WHO/IDF for 2000, which are successfully fulfilled.
