RESUMO
O estímulo vibratório aplicado sobre a inserção dos músculos esternoclideomastoideos ou na região da mastóide em indivíduos assintomáticos e em indivíduos com queixas vestibulares pode induzir a uma movimentação ocular que chamamos de Nistagmo de Indução Vibratória (NIV) cervical. O objetivo desta pesquisa é observar a prevalência do NIV em uma população de 77 indivíduos com queixais vestibulares em comparação a um grupo controle de 28 indivíduos sem queixas relativas ao equilíbrio corporal. Foram ainda observadas as características dos nistagmos obtidos./Vibration applied either to the sternocleidomastoid muscle (neck muscles) or to the mastoid bone in normal subjects and patients with dizziness induces a visual horizontal movement called vibration-induced nystagmus (VIN). The aim of this study is the analyze of the prevalence and the characteristics of VIN in 77 patients with vertigo and in 28 normal subjects. A hand-held battery-powered vibrator was used at frequencies from 90 Hz. The VIN was measured by a eletronistagmography equipment. The prevalence was larger in the normal subject group than from the healthy group (p=0,033)...
