OR 0,431, p=0,03 / The purpose of this study was to evaluate the factors related to hospital morbidity and mortality of men and women submitted to isolated coronary artery bypass surgery. We analysed 2032 patients submitted to this surgery between January, 1999 and December, 2002; they were 1402 men (69 per cent) and 630 women (31 per cent). The results demonstrated that feminin sex was not identified as an independent factor for hospital death. Age, OR 1,05, p=0,011 and left descending coronary diameter, OR 3,6, p=0,0001 were related to hospital mortality and as a protector factor the use of internal thoracic artery grafts, OR 0,431, p=0,03...
