RESUMEN
Se hizo un estudio descriptivo que evaluó los brotes de la enfermedad ocurridos en humanos y animales en la provincia Ciego de Ávila en el período de 1980 a 2003. Con este trabajo se demostró que tanto las medidas tomadas en salud animal y salud pública han logrado disminuir la frecuencia de los brotes
