RESUMO

Da dupla perspectiva das "alianças" e do Modo de Reprodução Ampliada do Capital (MRAC), as alianças são vantajosas apenas quando os países que as fazem estão no mesmo grau de maturação do MRAC, ou contribuem para que novos associados atinjam o estágio dos mais desenvolvidos. O acordo do Mercosul igualou do mais forte aos mais fracos. Já o ingresso na Alca e um acordo com a União Européia são alianças em que o Brasil será a parte mais fraca.

ABSTRACT

According to the double theories of "alliances" and the Amplified Capital Reproduction Mode (MRAC), alliances are advantageous only when their members enjoy the same level of MRAC development, or when they contribute to elevating new member nations to the same level as the most developed members. The Mercosul agreement brought the strongest member down to the level of the weakest. The FTAA, however, and the agreement with the European Union, are alliances in which Brazil would be the weakest member.
