Incidência de Hepatite B e Vacinação no Estado de Santa Catarina. Brasil, 1996-2004 / Incidence of hepatitis B and vaccination in Santa Catarina state

RESUMO

O objetivo deste estudo foi verificar a incidência dos casos notificados de hepatite B em Santa Catarina, entreos anos de 1996 a 2004, sua distribuição por faixa etária,sexo e Macro região, juntamente com a evolução da cobertura vacinal em menores de 1 ano, e o incrementovacinal na faixa etária de 1 a 14 anos. Os dados mostraram que a incidência de hepatite B tem diminuído ao longo do período entre 1996 e 2004, segundo faixa etária, sexo e Macro região, apresentando, porém diferenças regionais marcantes. A cobertura vacinaliniciou com uma cobertura razoável, e a partir de 1999 passa a apresentar uma homogeneidade, atingindo cercade 99% em 2004. Porém, ainda não há um cálculo padronizado que permita conhecer a cobertura vacinal para as demais faixas etárias, além daquela conhecida para menores de 1 ano de idade, o que dificulta a verificação da população coberta pelo Programa Nacional de Imunizações.

ABSTRACT

The objective of this study was to verify the incidence of the notified cases of hepatitis B in Santa Catarina state,enters the years of 1996 the 2004, its distribution for age group, sex and great area, together with the evolution ofthe vaccine covering in minors of 1 year, and the vaccine increment in the age group of 1 the 14 years. The datahad shown that the incidence of hepatitis B has diminished to the long one of the period between 1996 and 2004, according to age group, sex and great area, presenting, however, regional differences accentuated. The vaccine covering initiated with a reasonable covering, and from 1999 it starts to present a homogeneity, reaching about 99% in 2004. However, still it does not have a standardized calculation that it allows to know the vaccine covering for the too much age groups, beyond that one known for minors of 1 year of age, what makes it difficult the verification of the population covered for the National Program of Immunizations.
