ABSTRACT
Several environmental factors are responsible for the structural process of plant and animal populations, influencing their dynamics through time and space. This study aims to identify the D. furfuracea (Annonaceae) spatial structure in a shrub-cerrado at the southeast region of the Goiás estate. 165 land parcels of 3 x 3 m (9 m2) were split, summing 1,485 m2 of sample area. The Poisson distribution (random pattern), the negative binomial distribution (aggregate pattern), the ratio variance/mean (I), the Green coefficient (Ig) and the standardized Morisita index (Ip) were used to detect the population spatial pattern. The average size of the aggregates was obtained through the variance between parcels, using the TTLQV and PQV methods. An aggregated spatial pattern distribution was detected in the D. furfacea population (G = 45.54, d.f. = 8, p < 0.001 for the Poisson model distribution and G = 11.14, d.f. = 8, p = 0.3878 for the negative binomial distribution), with the patches exhibiting an average radius of 30m, even though withrelatively small dispersion indexes (I = 1.94, d = 7.17, Ig = 0.002 e Ip = 0.501). This is due to the observed local environmental differences, as way seed dispersed and mainly as different way of the energy production and resources available.
