ABSTRACT
The paper is about the difference between faith and beliefs. Disavowal (Verleugnung) was considered, in psychoanalytic theory, as a relatively frequent defense in childhood in order to refuse experiences of pain, loss, frustration and helplessness. Such experiences hurt and destroy the most radical aspirations which spring from phallic narcisism the desire to be perfect, absolute, selfsufficient, imortal and, if posssible, to have the good parents from early childhood available for ever. On the other side, allowing the narcisistic aspirations to be partially denied and transformed, (as for example, giving up, to a certain extent, the omnipotent desire of knowing and controlling everything) can take a subject into a strange adventure of engaging into a colective project of work
