RESUMO

Trata-se de um artigo de revisão da literatura, que discute a formação do odontólogo a partir dos desafios de sua inserção na Estratégia de Saúde da Família (ESF), fazendo uma crítica ao atual processo de ensino-aprendizagem no interior das instituições de ensino superior em Odontologia, fazendo alguns apontamentos sobre o Pró-Saúde e trazendo algumas possibilidades. Neste sentido, aponta a necessidade da construção de uma Odontologia em sintonia com o Sistema Único de Saúde, atuando de maneira a responder às necessidades apresentadas pela coletividade. Para tanto, faz-se um breve resgate histórico dos rumos que a Odontologia brasileira teve de percorrer até alcançar as concepções e práticas de hoje para que se possa compreender a realidade da profissão e do ensino atualmente, e a partir daí, discute o perfil do profissional de Odontologia adequado a atuar na Atenção Básica. Finalmente, considera a responsabilidade das universidades e do Estado em formar profissionais com competência nas questões inerentes ao núcleo do saber da Odontologia, bem como com competências intersetoriais, interdisciplinares e multiprofissionais, competências estas contempladas no Pró-Saúde. Constatou-se que o modelo assistencial de atenção em saúde bucal, centrado na doença e com base na demanda espontânea, deve evoluir para um modelo de atenção integral à saúde onde as ações de promoção, prevenção, proteção, e de recuperação sejam incorporadas concomitantemente, buscando a melhoria da qualidade de vida. Com a inserção da Odontologia no Pró-Saúde se vislumbra ai uma possibilidade real de mudança nos rumos da profissão e de seu impacto no país.

ABSTRACT

It’s a literature revision article, that discuss the formation of the odontologycs beginning of the challenge of their inclusion in family health strategies, making a critical analysis about the actually process of learning and teaching in universities, analyzing the Pró-Saúde e bringing up some possibilities. About this context, shows up the needles of a construction of an odontoligycs in agreement with the Unique Health System, responding the needles of the people. For that is done a short historical rescue of the ways the Brazilian odontologycs passed through untill the actually practices and conceptions to understand the actual reality of teaching, and then, discuss the Odontologycs professional profile to work in the basics attention. Finally, consider the responsibility of the universities and of the State in the formation of Professionals with competence in the knowledge of odontologycs, as well, with intersections, interdisciplinary, and multi-professional competences, that are contemplated in the Pró-Saúde program. It was verified that mouth heath attention assistencial model, centered in the sickness and in the spontaneous demand, might evolutes to a model with integral attention to the health, where actions of promotion, prevention, protection e recuperation are incorporated, looking for more life quality. With the insertion of the odontoligy in the Pró Saúde program, is possible to see a real changing in the road of the profession and its impacts in the country.
