RESUMEN
Objetivo. El presente estudio tiene el objetivo de conocer cuáles son los rasgos que caracterizan a un “Dentista competente”, desde la opinión de los estudiantes del cuarto año de la carrera de cirujano dentista. Material y métodos. Para este estudio de corte cualitativo cuantitativo se aplicó un cuestionario abierto a 250 alumnos que cursan el último año de la carrera y se les pidió que anotaran mínimo cinco rasgos que caractericen a un dentista competente y los jerarquizaran en orden de importancia. Se aplicó la técnica de redes semánticas naturales y se encontraron 327 palabras definidoras y los rasgos más característicos resultaron conocimientos, responsabilidad, actualización, habilidad y ética. Resultados. Con estos resultados se expresa qué competencia profesional está identificada con las formaciones cognitivas en primer lugar conocimientos, actualización y habilidades; en segundo término las formaciones motivacionales responsabilidad y ética.
ABSTRACT
Objective. The purpose of this study is to know which attributes characterize a “competent dentist from the viewpoint of the 4th year dental students at FES Zaragoza. Material and methods. This qualitative and quantitative study was performed with the use of an open questionnaire to 250 students in their senior year, they were asked to write at least five characteristics for a competent dentist and to list them in order of importance. The natural semantics net technique was applied and 327 defining words were found, the characters more frequent were; knowledge, responsibility, up-to date, ability and ethics. Results. with these results is expressed that professional competence is identified with cognitive formation in first place. Knowledge, up-to date, and abilities, in second comes the motivational formation as responsibility and ethics.
