ABSTRACT
The oncology patients are more frequently admitted in intensive care unit (ICU). ICU survival after discharge compared with patient no cancer is the same in our unit. The risk factors for mortality in critically cancer patient can be divided in cancer and performance status patient. The admission of these patients to ICU is useful. Treatment with chemotherapy in ICU is feasible in seleccionate patients. The full treatment and the multidisciplinary critical care are useful. General reluctance to admit cancer patients to an ICU does not seem to be justified.
