RESUMEN
Se realiza una revisión de los conceptos y conocimientos actualizados sobre la resistencia antimicrobiana, sus mecanismos y factores predisponentes pues es éste un fenómeno alarmante, que preocupa a la comunidad científica. Estudiamos el comportamiento de la sepsis en el servicio de Ortopedia del Hospital Militar de Matanzas, en el período comprendido de enero del 2003 a enero del 2005, en cuanto a gérmenes más frecuentes, sensibilidad y resistencia a los antimicrobianos disponibles...
ABSTRACT
We made a review of the updated concepts and knowledge on the antimicrobial resistance, its mechanisms and predisposal factors, because this is an alarming phenomenon, obsessing the scientific community. We studied sepsis behaviour at the orthopaedic service of the Military Hospital of Matanzas, during the period from January 2003 to January 2005, taking into account the most frequent germs, sensibility and resistance to the available antimicrobials.
