Estudo comparativo de dois modelos de camposcirúrgicos utilizados em cirurgia bucal ambulatorial / Comparative study of two models of surgical drapesused in out-patient oral surgery

RESUMO

OBJETIVO:Avaliar qual campo cirúrgico utilizado em cirurgia bucal sob anestesia local oferecemaior conforto ao paciente sem comprometer os princípios básicos de biossegurança. MÉTODOS:Trinta e três pacientes foram submetidos à exodontia de seus terceiros molaresnão irrompidos, em duas sessões, num total de 66 cirurgias. Foram selecionadosdois modelos de campos cirúrgicos fenestrados, um expondo toda a face dopaciente e outro expondo somente a boca ao cirurgião. Após a realização dasduas cirurgias (uma para cada modelo de campo), foi aplicado um questionárioobjetivo aos pacientes, que elegiam o modelo de campo que lhes oferecera maiorconforto. RESULTADOS:No final, 87,87% dos pacientes escolheram o campo no qual a face ficava todaexposta, enquanto 9,09% escolheram o campo que expunha somente a boca e3,03% não acharam diferença quanto ao conforto entre os modelos empregados. CONCLUSÃO: Dessa forma pôde-se concluir que o campo cirúrgico que expõe toda a faceoferece maior conforto transoperatório ao paciente.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate which surgical drape in oral surgery under local anesthesia offersmore comfort to the patient without risking his health or compromising basicbiosafety principles. METHODS: Thirty-three patients were submitted to exodontias of their four unerupted thirdmolars, divided into two stages. Two types of surgical drapes were selected, oneexposing the entire face of the patient and another one only exposing the patient?smouth to the surgeon. After both surgeries were performed, the patients weresubmitted to an objective questionnaire where they chose which drape was more comfortable. RESULTS: About 87.87% of the studied patients chose the drape that exposed the entireface to the surgeon, only 9.09% of them chose the drape that exposed only themouth and 3.03% had no preference. CONCLUSION: The surgical drape that offers most comfort to the surgical patient is that which exposes the entire face of the patient to the surgeon.
