ABSTRACT

We objectify in this study to investigate the vulnerability and the risks of adolescents in the midst of ST/HIV/AIDS in their several contexts. It was used the exploratory method, and based on a cultural and ethnographical approach, developed in an elementary and high school in Fortaleza, Ceará, in the period between April and June, 2007. The following instruments were used to work with the 20 selected adolescents observation, participant observation, diary, focal group. The students of this study were divided into two focal groups according to the gender. There were five meetings with the average duration of 90 minutes. For the data analysis, it was used the content analysis of Bardin. As a result, it is possible to emphasize that social groups are essential in adolescents? formation of knowledge related to STD/HIV/AIDS, however there is a deficit of reflexive and constructive dialogue in these spaces, which are not performing their real roles. This problem together with womanly submission, culturally rooted, influences the risk and vulnerability that expose the adolescents. Therefore, it was concluded that the society as a whole needs to reflect on these factors, distinguishing its roles in the control of STD/HIV/AIDS of the adolescents as well as of the population in general, aiming health promotion.

RESUMO

Este estudo tem por objetivo investigar a vulnerabilidade e os riscos dos adolescentes em meio as DST/HIV/AIDS nos seus diversos contextos. Utilizou-se o método exploratório, fundamentado numa abordagem cultural etnográfica, desenvolvido em uma escola de ensino fundamental e médio em Fortaleza, Ceará, no período de abril a junho de 2007. Para trabalhar com os 20 adolescentes selecionados, utilizaram-se os seguintes instrumentos: observação, observação participante, diário de campo, grupo focal. Os estudantes, deste estudo, foram divididos em dois grupos focais de acordo com o gênero. Ocorreram cinco encontros com duração média de 90 minutos. Para a análise dos dados, utilizou-se a análise de conteúdo de Bardin. Como resultado, pode-se destacar que os grupos sociais são fundamentais na formação de conhecimento dos adolescentes com relação às DST/HIV/AIDS, mas que está havendo um déficit de diálogo reflexivo e construtivo nestes espaços, não cumprindo seus reais papéis. Esta problemática em conjunto com a submissão feminina, culturalmente enraizada, influencia no risco e vulnerabilidade que expõe os adolescentes. Portanto, concluiu-se que é preciso que a sociedade como um todo reflita acerca destes fatores, enxergando seus papeis no controle das DST/HIV/AIDS, tanto dos adolescentes quanto da população em geral, com vistas a promoção da saúde.
