Incidência de doença arterial periférica e nível de atividade física em indivíduos acima de 50 anos no município de Toledo / Incidence of a peripheric arterial disease and thephysical activity level in people above 50 years old in Toledo city

RESUMO

Estimar a incidência de Doença Arterial Periférica (DAP) e o nível de atividade física em indivíduos com idade igual ou superior a 50 anos do município de Toledo - PR. Para efeito de triagem, além da ficha de identificação do indivíduo, realizou-se verificação da pressão arterial do tornozelo e do braço em 371 participantes, conforme as normas do III Consenso Brasileiro de Hipertensão Arterial. Para medir o nível de atividade física utilizou-se o ?Questionário Internacional de Atividade Física - Versão Curta? e para analisar a presença de outras doenças nos participantes utilizou-se o "Escore de Comorbidade de Covinski". Observou-se que houve correlação significante entre a idade e o Índice Tornozelo - Braço (ITB) para a população feminina. Para a amostra masculina, também houve correlação estaticamente significante entre idade e Índice Tornozelo - Braço. Obteve-se correlação significante entre o Escore de Comorbidade de Covinski e o Índice Tornozelo - Braço para as mulheres avaliadas. No entanto, não houve correlação significante entre as mesmas variáveis para os homens avaliados. Não houve correlação entre o nível de atividade física e DAP para ambos os sexos. Com a análise do Índice Tornozelo - Braço da população estudada obteve-se 13,01% das mulheres e 9,80% dos homens com claudicação leve, nenhum participante apresentou DAP. Novos estudos utilizando métodos mais acurados de avaliação de aptidão física poderiam estar contribuindo para análise de sua relação com a Doença Arterial Periférica

ABSTRACT

To estimate the incidence of the peripheric arterial disease (PAD) and the physical activity level in peopleaging 50 years old, or above, in Toledo city. For of triage, besides the person's identifi cation application, both ankle and arm blood pressure in 371 participants was assessed, according to the III Brazilian Consense of Arterial Hypertension norms. To measure the level of physical activity, the "International Questionnaire of Physical Activity was used - short version", and to analyze the presence of others diseases it the "Covinski`s Comorbity Punctuation" was used. It was observed that there was signifi cant relationship among the ages and the Arm-Ankle Index (AAI) for the female population. For the male population, there was also statistically signifi cant relation among the ages and the AAI. There was signifi cant relation between the Covinski`s Comorbity Punctuation and the AAI for the women evaluated. However, there wasn't signifi cant relationship among the same variables for the evaluated men. There was no correlation between physical activity level and peripheric arterial disease in both genders. Through the Arm-Ankle Index analyses of the studied population, it was found that 13,01% of the women and 9,80% of the men with soft claudication. No subject presented PAD. New studies using more accurate methods of evaluation of physical aptitude could contribute for the analysis of its relationship with the Peripheric Arterial Disease
