RESUMO
O tabagismo é o mais importante fator de risco isolado de doenças graves e fatais. É responsável por mortes por doenças coronarianas, pulmonares,cerebrovasculares e neoplasias. Pesquisas associam a diminuição do percentual defumantes no Brasil, nos últimos 15 anos, às políticas de combate ao fumo. Em Maringá, a mortalidade por doenças crônicas, incluindo as neoplasias e doenças coronarianas, encontra-se na faixa de 67% ao ano. A prevenção e o tratamento do tabagismo fazem parte de projeto elaborado em 2006 e desenvolvido em 2007,que visa reverter essa situação no município. Foram orientados os servidores municipais, sinalizados os ambientes públicos quanto à legislação que proíbe fumar em ambientes fechados, elaborada lei e decreto municipal sobre o tema,orientados e fiscalizados os estabelecimentos comerciais, especialmente as casas noturnas, bares e boates, quanto ao cumprimento da lei. Nas Unidades Básicasde Saúde são desenvolvidos grupos de tratamento para tabagistas.
ABSTRACT
Smoking is the most important risc factory for serious and fatal diseases. It is responsible for deaths from coronary pulmunorary diseases andneoplasias. Researches are associated to the decrease in percentage of smokersin Brazil in the last 15 years, the politics to combat smoking. In Maringá themortality chronic diseases including cancer and coronary diseases, are foundthe range of 67% a year. The prevention and treatment are part of a projectcreated in 2006 and developed in 2007, witch aims wont to revert this situationat the council. The municipal workers wew adviced, flagged in public placesorientations about the law that prohibet smoking in close places, made thelaw and the municipal decree about subject, were oriented and controlled,in particular, bars, night clubs, to check the fullfilment the law. At UBS aredeveloped groups of treatment for smokers.
