RESUMO
O presente trabalho objetiva, devido à importante relação entre os erros refrativos com co-morbidades,desenvolvimento social e inclusive econômico, estabelecer a prevalência dos distintos erros refrativosna faixa etária entra 2 e 20 anos, em uma clínica privada na cidade de Florianópolis, no período de 10 de junho de 1996 e 03 de fevereiro de 2007. De uma amostragem de 6.338 olhos, 471 (7.43%) eram emétropes, 1.827(28.82%) míopes, 1.579 (24.91%) astigmatas e 488 (7,69%) hipermétropes. Alguns pacientes apresentavam dois vícios de refração associados. 1.424 (22,46%)apresentavam astigmatismo e miopia enquanto 549 (8.66%) apresentavam astigmatismo e hipermetropia.
ABSTRACT
The objectives of the present paper, regarding the importance relationship between the refractive errors andco-morbidities, social development and economic features, showing the prevalence of the different refractive errors, found in a private clinic in Florianopolis, in patients between 2 years and 20 years of age, fromJune 10, 1996 until February 03, 2007. This study included a total of 6,338 eyes,471(7.43%) were emetropes, 1.827 (28.82%) myopes, 1.579 (24.91%) astigmatics and 488(7.69%) hyperopes. Some patients had two refractive errors combined. 1.424 (22.46%) show astigmatism plusmyopia and 549 (8.66%) show astigmatism plus hyperopia.
