Percepção dos pais em relação a mudanças após o processo psicodiagnóstico / Parents' perception regarding changes after the psycho-diagnosis process

RESUMO

O presente estudo teve como objetivo investigar a percepção dos pais na mudança de comportamento dos filhos após o processo psicodiagnóstico. A pesquisa foi realizada através de um estudo qualitativo, com treze entrevistas semi-estruturadas, com mães de crianças e adolescentes que realizaram o psicodiagnóstico com acadêmicos de Psicologia da Universidade Regional Integrada Campus de Erechim - RS, no Centro de Psicologia Aplicada. Após a coleta de dados, os mesmos foram transcritos e submetidos à análise de conteúdo, sendo que os resultados indicaram mudanças no comportamento e sintomas inicialmente apresentados. Os examinados manifestaram, no rendimento escolar, maior senso de responsabilidade e organização com as atividades escolares, no vínculo afetivo entre pais e filhos, houve melhor expressão da afetividade e também apresentaram uma diminuição da ansiedade e da agressividade. Pôde-se depreender que o psicodiagnóstico constitui-se como uma etapa de avaliação e diagnóstico podendo ser entendido como período de intervenção que gera mudanças.

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to investigate parents' perception regarding changes of their children's behaviors after a psycho-diagnosis process. The research was accomplished through a qualitative study, with thirteen semi-structured interviews with children and teenagers' mothers that went through the psycho-diagnosis process hold by the academics of the Psychology Course from Universidade Regional Integrada - Erechim Campus - RS, at the Center of Applied Psychology. After the data collection, they were transcribed and submitted to the analysis of content, the results indicating changes in behavior and symptoms presented initially. The examinees manifested, regarding school performance, a bigger sense of responsibility and organization with their school activities; regarding parenthood affection, there was a better manifestation of affection, also presenting a decreasing of anxiety and aggressiveness. It can be concluded that the psycho-diagnosis process is a stage of evaluation and a diagnosis that can be extended as a period of intervention that generates changes.
