ABSTRACT
Optical coherence tomography is a new and powerful diagnostic tool that has challenged traditional concepts in retinal diseases, bringing up new paradigms in diagnosis and treatment. This article revises paramount aspects of this technology applied to the study of acquired maculopathies, enriched with the author’s (LBN) personal experience.
