El Alcohol: la Droga bajo piel de cordero / Alcoho: the drug under the skin of the lamb

RESUMEN

Se valoran los aspectos que pudieran explicar la subvaloración mundial del uso nocivo del alcohol, hasta la clarificación de su verdadero significado mediante la resolución 58.26 de la OMS. Se comentan algunas características del alcohol en comparación con otras drogas y los diferentes efectos sobre la salud, relacionados con su uso adecuado o embriagante. Se insiste en el nuevo concepto epidemiológico del trazado en J de los riesgos para la salud cuando se considera el uso cauteloso y sin picos o bingos, con el modelo alimentario, y cuando el consumo asume las características opuestas. Se describen los complejos mecanismos que subyacen en la “paradoja francesa”, y la total inversión de los mismos cuando el consumo se hace inadecuado. Finalmente se actualizan aspectos epidemiológicos de rango mundial, regional y nacional que constituyen argumentos de relevante significado para sustentar el criterio de que el alcohol, pese a ser destacado como la droga modelo y portera, y erigirse como el primer factor de riesgo para enfermar en el tercer mundo no islámico y el tercero en el mundo industrializado, es todavía subvalorado con relación a las drogas ilegales, acusándose regionalmente una actitud social de tolerancia incondicional. El trabajo termina con la interpretación de la metáfora implícita en su título, al destacar que debido el pasar socialmente inadvertido como droga peligrosa posibilita que se incrementen sus daños socio-económicos y etico-deontologico-humanísticos.

ABSTRACT

A brief historical summary about the use of drugs with enteogena purposes and considering alcohol as the pioneer drug in the generalization of consumption is presented at the beginning of this work. The aspects that could explain the world undervalued opinion about the harmful use of alcohol and the clarification of its real meaning through WHO Resolution 58.26 are appraised. Some characteristics of alcohol in comparison with other drugs and the different effects on the health related with its adequate and intoxicating use are commented on. There are described the complex mechanisms underlie in the “French paradox” and their total inversion when consumption is inadequate.Finally,we bring up to date the epidemiologic aspects of world, regional and national rank that are arguments of relevant significance to hold on the criteria that even when alcohol is highlighted as the gatekeeper and the model drug raising as the first factor of risk to get sick the population of the under developing countries that do not practice the Islamic faith and the third one for the developing countries is still undervalued in relation to illegal drugs, regionally pointing up a social attitude of unconditional tolerance. This paper ends with the understanding of the implicit metaphor in its title that highlights alcohol as a dangerous drug that increases its social-economical and ethiodeontologic –humanistic damages due to its socially unseen passing.
