Intervención educativa en adolescentes atendidas en consulta de ginecología infanto-juvenil / Educative intervention in adolescents seen at the infant-juvenile gynecology department

RESUMEN

Introducción. El objetivo de esta investigación fue mostrar los resultados obtenidos en un grupo de adolescentes que asistió a la consulta de ginecología infanto-juvenil y a las que se educó sobre algunos aspectos relacionados con la salud reproductiva. Métodos. Entre el 1ro de enero de 2003 y el 30 de diciembre de 2006, se realizó un estudio de intervención en un grupo de pacientes de 11 a 19 años, atendidas en la consulta de ginecología infanto-juvenil del Municipio Playa (La Habana). Por cada paciente se seleccionó un grupo control de la misma edad, escolaridad y raza similar. Se confeccionó una historia clínica individual, donde se analizaron motivo de consulta, método anticonceptivo solicitado y utilizado, seguimiento de las pacientes a las que se practicó regulación menstrual u aborto; uso de algún método anticonceptivo, diagnóstico y evolución de las infecciones cervicovaginales. Con las del grupo estudio se utilizaron técnicas participativas grupales de discusión y análisis, realizadas conjuntamente con los familiares, y no se realizaron con el grupo control. Como método estadístico se utilizó la prueba de ji al cuadrado. Resultados. La solicitud de anticoncepción fue la principal causa de consulta. El método anticonceptivo más solicitado fueron los dispositivos intrauterinos, pero en el grupo control se logró que predominara el uso de condón y métodos hormonales. El 88,2 por ciento de las pacientes del grupo estudio usó algún método anticonceptivo después de la regulación, contra el 76 por ciento del grupo control. El 87,9 por ciento de las pacientes con leucorrea del grupo estudio curó, mientras solo lo consiguió el 73,5 por ciento de las del grupo control...

ABSTRACT

Introduction. The objective of this research was to show the results obtained in a group of adolescents that were seen at the infant-juvenile gynecology department and that were educated on some aspects related to reproductive health. Methods. A group of female patients aged 11-19 that received attention at the infant-juvenile gynecology department of Playa municipality (Havana) was included in an interventional study conducted between January 1, 2003and December 30, 2006. A control group with the same age, and similar educational level and race was selected per each patient. An individual medical history was made to analyze the chief complaints, contraceptive methods required and used, follow-up of the patients who underwent menstrual regulation or abortion, use of some contraceptive method, diagnosis and evolution of the cervicovaginal infections. Participative group techniques of debate and analysis were used with the members of the study group and their relatives. These techniques were not applied in the control group. Chi square test was utilized as a statistical method. Results. The need of contraception was the main reason for visiting the specialist. The most required contraceptive methods were the intrauterine devices, but in the control group the use of condom and hormonal methods prevailed. 88.2 percent of the patients of the study group used some kind of contraceptive method after regulation against 76 percent of the control group. 87.9 percent of the patients with leucorrhoea in the study group were cured, whereas only 73.5 percent of the control group managed to do so...
