RESUMEN
El cáncer de colon se presenta raramente como fiebre de origen desconocido sin otra sintomatología orientadora. Este artículo reporta un enfermo con fiebre diaria de 38-39 ºC, durante 4 meses y medio a quien se le diagnosticó un adenocarcinoma moderadamente diferenciado de colon ascendente, se le practicó hemicolectomía laparoscópica y se observó resolución del cuadro febril en 48 h.
ABSTRACT
Colon cancer rarely appears as a fever of unknown origin without another orienting symptomatology. This article reports a patient with daily fever between 38 ºC and 39 ºC for 4 and a half months. The patient was diagnosed a moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma of ascending colon. Laparoscopic hemicolectomy was performed and resolution of the febrile picture was observed in 48 hours.
