A questão da realidade objetiva no tratamento de crianças: reflexões a partir de um caso / The objective reality in child psychotherapy: reflections from a case

RESUMO

A partir do relato de um caso em que a realidade externa invadiu violentamente a vida de um menino, a autora reflete sobre o alcance e os limites da psicoterapia de orientação analítica e da psicanálise nesses casos. O impacto da situação na mente do terapeuta foi de tal intensidade, que possibilitou algum entendimento do que fora vivido pelo menino. Em situações traumáticas como a descrita, a abordagem psicanalítica possibilita uma vivência emocional que cria condições para a mente retomar sua capacidade de gerar significados, de simbolizar, que fora rompida pelo evento traumático. Esse tecer numa rede de significados abre caminho para o paciente dar representação ao que era irrepresentável, restabelecer sua história em constante construção, retomar uma mente que simboliza e, portanto, elaborar e criar constantemente. A autora sugere que o estudo criterioso de casos tão dramáticos como esse nos permitiria entender melhor os alcances e limites do método psicanalítico, ampliando nosso conhecimento dos fatores de mudança psíquica, o que contribuiria para o aprimoramento de nossa capacidade diagnóstica e para as indicações de tratamento

ABSTRACT

Based on a case report in which external reality has violently invaded a boy’s life, the author reflects on the scope and limits of the psychoanalytic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis in such cases. The impact of this situation on the therapist’s mind was so intense that it was possible for the therapist to have some understanding of what the boy had experienced. In such traumatic situations, the psychoanalytic approach gives the opportunity for the arrival of an emotional experience that gives the mind conditions to recreate its capacity to generate meanings, to symbolize – elements which have been broken due to the traumatic situation. This net of meanings opens a way to the patient and allows him to represent what has once been impossible to represent, to reestablish his story construction in a continuous development, to regain the possibility of a symbolizing mind, therefore, to be able to elaborate and be creative again. The author proposes that the thorough study of such dramatic cases would allow us to understand better the scope and limits of the psychoanalytic method, enhancing our knowledge of the psychic chancing factors, which would contribute to the improvement of our diagnosis capacity and also towards treatment indications
